About TKD Beginner #1

TKD Beginner #1 is the starting Taekwondo class for children aged four to seven at The RAZ in Rockland. White and yellow belts learn stances, blocks, basic kicks and the first pattern in a structured 45-minute class on Tuesday evenings.

Your first class is free. Rick places each child in the right group after that visit, and membership is arranged directly with him.

What athletes learn

Ready stance, front stance and basic blocks
Front kick, turning kick and target work
The first pattern (poomsae) and Korean terminology
Courtesy, discipline and dojang etiquette

Your first class is free

Try a class before you commit. Tell us the student’s age and any martial arts experience and Rick will reply with the best class to start in. Membership is arranged after your free class.

Is the first class really free?

Yes. Come and try a class before you commit. Bring comfortable clothing and water.

What age is Beginner #1?

Ages 4 to 7 at white or yellow belt. Ages 8 and up start in Beginner #2.

When does my child move up?

After grading to orange belt, students move to the Intermediate class.

What does a uniform cost?

Uniforms (doboks) and belts are arranged with Rick once your child joins.
